Nose grease on a scratched negative

Black and white photo of a pharmacy counter in a diner where a woman and child are speaking with a cashier, with shelves of medicine in the foreground.

In darkroom class last night, I made three 4" x 4" fiber prints of the pharmacy in Lincoln's P&G Diner where we ate breakfast in Pittsburgh in summer 2023. I realized after two prints that there was a horizontal scratch on the negative, just below the “CASHIER” sign, so I rubbed grease from my nose right on the film to fill in the gap before making the third print. It totally worked. (The image here is a pre-scratch scan from the lab, not the actual print.)
